Hey guys,
it has been a while since my last book review but it has not been in vein. This week the Perfect Blood by Kim Harrison. If you've read any of my previous blogs you know that i LOVE kim harrison and the series this book is a part of. The Perfect Blood is the 10th book in the Hollows series. For a overview of the first 9 books look back at my other reviews.
This book left off a few months after the last one ended. Rachel is still wearing her charmed silver and she is still playing cautious with demons, FIB, IS, and the always entertaining Trent (<3). After having difficulty proving she is in fact alive Rachel makes a deal with the IS to gain some of her privileges as a citizen back. A serial killer(s) has left a display in the park. A dead body half morphed into a monster. Rachel, Jenks, Ivy, and Rachel's bodyguard Wade are on the investigation. With a couple of clues, it seems like the human serial killers are looking to make their very own demon. Leading to a path of witch bodies that the IS and FIB can't seem to stop.
This was a good continuation after the last book, which led me to really anticipate this book. There were a lot of memorable Trent and Rachel moments some better than others but overall satisfying my craving some movement in their relationship. I also appreciated Wade, the body guard, he was an interesting addition to the group especially with the limited Glenn interaction that happened this book.
This book wasn't disappointing although i craved a little more action and i think some of the moments between Rachel and Trent were a little forced especially with the elevator moment, and the garden moment. I do have to say that i wasn't expecting Al to make an appearance but glad he did... we all needed out witty demon fix.
Overall this was a four just because it was really hard to compete with the last book but did tie up and progress the series for the

Honestly, I'm not finished reading the book I'm supposed to be reviewing today (only 90 pages to go) so I'll just tell you about something else I read recently. I'm a very dedicated reader and i have to admit if you haven't read this series you don't know how excellent and skilled a writer could be.
Kim Harrison's Hollows series is probably one of the best series I have ever read. So far there are 9 books in the series and I read them all this year. I finished the last one around June and I'm slowly dying waiting for the 10th one to come out in February.
The series is about a witch named Rachel Morgan, that gets into more trouble than you could possibly imagine. Between angry bosses, werewolves, manipulative elves, a vampire roommate, and a conniving ex boyfriend. Rachel is always running or fighting someone usually with the help of Living vampire Ivy, and always good for a laugh, Jinx (pixy). Rachel is one of the most interesting and well developed characters i've read about in a long time. The books are all fast paced and there is rarely a dull moment in all 9 books. The endings almost always leave you begging for more too.
I highly suggest everyone check it out. The first book is called Dead Witch Walking.
