TTFN,
LL
Come and get it. I am not ashamed to admit it, I like Selena Gomez, whether she is with Justin Bieber or not. Now let me relate this back to The Rena Files, because I can. I actually emulated Rena (the main character) after Selena Gomez she was still on Wizards of Waverly place at the time and just so darn cute. I wanted Rena to be that way. Cute as a button but not exactly sure how to be hot or even be aware that she can do it. P.S. Join The Rena Files is Free in July event on either Facebook or Goodreads. Another Tuesday, another musical edition I get to regale upon you. This week I'm in a particularly AWESOME mood. I am moved into the new place. I am comfortably finding my routine and the Fiance has even found a job that he actually is excited about! All is well and So let's dance! TTFN, LL P.S. Check back for some great news on Thursday! :-) I know this has always been random. That I have a day where I just rant about what song i've been singing all week. Seriously, you think it has nothing to do with books but let me tell you how I came up with the idea almost 2 years (YIKES!) ago. Way back in 2011. I was on a mission. Find something interesting and consistent to say to people. I've seen stuff like Free book Fridays (Gemma Halliday) and Self Publishing tips 101 (Multiple authors). I was just starting out and as a writer I knew a few things as fact. I like to read. I like to write. I like to do both with music in the background. If you didn't know I have dedicated music pages to each of my book series. If you don't believe me go check. (I'll wait) Okay, so this is my only must when writing. Loud music! It's my motivator. In my head, before i start a book I make book playlists (Hopefully they could be awesome soundtracks one day) They motivate and I usually play songs that go along with what I'm writing. For example, When I write a sad, heartbreaking scene, I will more than likely be listening to a gut wrenchingly sad song that no one should be listening to unless they want to cry. My present selection while writing Familiar was Forever and Always by Parachute. If you haven't heard that song I suggest it. If you have heard it and haven't teared I think you should be out searching for your soul because it is sad. Really Sad. Back to the point. Musical Tuesday is me ranting about songs I listen to all day while writing. It makes me feel like I'm giving not only the book to everyone but a little bit of why the hell I wrote that. (Just so you all can see my point Parachute is the song this week. Have your hanky handy.) TTFN, LL It's Tuesday again. So I prepare you for my little rant on this song, because I have one. When I first heard this song. To be honest, I HATED It. I thought this song started weird and is it me or does she sound a little demented as she yells that she never wants to fall in love but is technically in love and avoiding the reality. So, let's see I picked this song because after repetitive play on the radio. The song is growing on me like mold grows in a basement. The worst part is I sing along and i'm still not convinced i like the song.Sorry for the ramble, Are there any other songs that make you feel this way? More Exciting News coming your way! Distrust (1.5 in the Secrets Trilogy) be prepared to see for free at Ebook Retailers coming soon. I originally planned to release this only my website but plans change and because of that change I didn't release it in March either. I can't give an exact date but expect it in the near future. Next is In The Beginning (.5 in The Rena Files) To be honest, I didn't know I wanted to write this until a few weeks ago. This won't be seeing publication until the Fall at least but it will also be a Freebie. For more information on Distrust or In the Beginning check out their new tabs! TTFN, LL 2 days to go until the Release of Revelations. No music today because one song isn't really needed. Besides does anyone really want to hear my teeny booper playlists dedicated to writing? Let's get to what is important TEASER 2!
(drum roll please!) Teaser number 2: One of my favorite parts that i got to play with throughout the second and third book were different abilities. I am a big fan of the Harlow's ability to push people. Not only does it make for some good points. It says a lot about the person doing the pushing on what they use it for. I promise there is plenty of pushing from serious to silly. It's something I liked to include. So my question for this teaser... What was the coolest ability in the books? TTFN, LL To help everyone remember that Revelations (The Last Book in the Secrets Trilogy) is available NEXT WEEK! (EEKK!!) I thought i would grace everyone with some more music behind the books. (If you aren't familiar with that click on your favorite series and see what are some of the songs i listen to to write. For All things Secrets Trilogy Click Here!) Here is another song that has been on repeat while i wrote this final book. Enjoy! TTFN, LL Another Tuesday for me to wow you with my obsessive nature. If you haven't already figured it out I LOVE MAROON 5. Not only do I love Adam Levine. I love their music dating back to Songs of Jane and have every album since then. Good news for me is that they just seem to get better the longer they are around and this song is a testament to that. So enjoy daylight. Granted I won't say I love everything they do. When the song Makes me wonder came out i questioned what the hell they were doing with that retro beat but two weeks later i was hooked. Let's just I'm infected and everytime i hear a Maroon 5 song my mind just knows to like it. Enjoy, LL Maybe I just have the sense of humor of at 10 year old boy this video was hilarious. It is not a typical musical Tuesday choice and the singing isn't exceptional but hey who cares when you are laughing hysterically? Enjoy, LL I'm going to admit that no matter how old I am I will always have a special place in my heart for boy bands (Which you have probably figured out... i talk about it too much!) One of the weakest spots that boybands play in my heart particularly is love songs. Boy bands just make them that much more sweeter and i'm just hopeless romantic (sorry). I know this goes against my diehard obsessions with the NKOTB, BSB, Nsync, and even my recent addiction, The Wanted. Every tween in the world has fallen in love with one direction. I'm not going to lie they are okay. I wasn't getting the hype but this song makes me change my mind just a little. Little things is a song, similar to what makes you beautiful... it's less dancy and more sweeter and simple. Sometimes a few words and a guitar are all that a great song needs. ;-) Enjoy. TTFN, LL Since Hurricane Sandy has made it very hard to see sunlight instead of a song of the day. I have come up with a rain playlist (thanks to some friends for suggestions) It will rain- bruno mars let it rain on me- pitbull and marc anthony come in with the rain- taylor swift don't rain on my parade- glee set fire to the rain- adele A year without rain- selena gomez and the scene (we wish!) My last choice is Oh Sandy - grease. Hope you enjoy this little change of pace with Musical Tuesday and if you are braving out the storm! Stay Safe! |
