Seriously, you think it has nothing to do with books but let me tell you how I came up with the idea almost 2 years (YIKES!) ago.
Way back in 2011. I was on a mission. Find something interesting and consistent to say to people. I've seen stuff like Free book Fridays (Gemma Halliday) and Self Publishing tips 101 (Multiple authors).
I was just starting out and as a writer I knew a few things as fact. I like to read. I like to write. I like to do both with music in the background.
If you didn't know I have dedicated music pages to each of my book series. If you don't believe me go check. (I'll wait) Okay, so this is my only must when writing. Loud music! It's my motivator. In my head, before i start a book I make book playlists (Hopefully they could be awesome soundtracks one day) They motivate and I usually play songs that go along with what I'm writing. For example, When I write a sad, heartbreaking scene, I will more than likely be listening to a gut wrenchingly sad song that no one should be listening to unless they want to cry. My present selection while writing Familiar was Forever and Always by Parachute. If you haven't heard that song I suggest it. If you have heard it and haven't teared I think you should be out searching for your soul because it is sad. Really Sad.
Back to the point. Musical Tuesday is me ranting about songs I listen to all day while writing. It makes me feel like I'm giving not only the book to everyone but a little bit of why the hell I wrote that.
(Just so you all can see my point Parachute is the song this week. Have your hanky handy.)
TTFN,
LL
